WONKY GREENS TO HIT UK SUPERMARKET SHELVES

happynews-wonkyfruits
UK supermarket giant, ASDA, announced they would be trialing a new range of wonky shaped fruit and veg. Usually all the misshapen products don’t reach the shelves so they will now be made available at a reduced price, an incentive introduced as an attempt to cut food wastage. Although many farmers already ensure that such wonky produce is used for further processing, such as in ready meals, the store thought there was an opportunity to go one step further, putting them straight onto the shelves.
