“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my Mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” – Fred Rogers
And after the tragic events in Paris, it wasn’t hard to find them. Stories poured out of people sheltering strangers in their homes, the incredible strength and bravery of the emergency services and paramedics during this time, of taxi drivers switching off their meters and spending hours driving people home, of queues at hospitals as volunteers waited to donate blood, not to mention the courage and bravery of the people involved in the attacks, protecting loved ones and comforting strangers.
When tragedy strikes, look for the good in people and you’ll find it.
